We're Giving Back...so others can move forward.

We're striving to do things differently with a more social purpose. Any surplus we generate is reinvested into social housing, social value and charitable projects. We aim to make a difference as a commercial business with a social heart.

At Procurement Hub charitable causes are very close to our heart. Through our new initiative, we have recently started allowing our members to use the social value fund to support the charities closest to them and closest to us. Through selected Frameworks, a social value contribution will be donated. Half of the fund will go towards supporting BBC Children in Need through our partnership. The other half of the available fund will be donated to a selected charity of the month.

Working alongside the below selected charities along with our members and supply chain, we aim to make a significant contribution to charity every year. Each month we will raise awareness for a different charity.

April - Alzheimer’s Society.

For the month of April, we're supporting the Alzheimer’s Society, the UK’s leading dementia charity. Founded in 1979, Alzheimer’s Society campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today. Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure. Their vision is to work together in achieving a world without dementia.

Over the next month, we will be using the social value fund to support Alzheimer’s Society in their campaign to confront the biggest health and social care challenge of our time.

May - Samaritans.

This month we are giving back to Samaritans. A charity that makes sure to be there for anyone who needs someone, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Samaritans have over 20,000 volunteers and 201 branches across the UK and Republic of Ireland, and currently 30% of their volunteers are self-isolating.

Samaritans is a critical service, needed now more than ever when such times of uncertainty can be very unsettling for some. Every 6 seconds someone contacts the Samaritans and each day around 16 people take their life in the UK and Ireland.

For the month of May, money raised from our social value fund will go towards helping Samaritans pursue their vision, that fewer people die by suicide and together we can make changes that save lives.

June - St John Ambulance

This June we will be supporting St John Ambulance as our charity of the month. St John Ambulance is a charity that steps forward in the moments that matter to save lives and keep communities safe to improve the health of the nation. They are the market leader in the provision of workplace training, first aid supplies and event and ambulance services.

All their charitable work is entirely funded by donations. Throughout June we will be giving back by donating money raised from our social value fund directly to St John Ambulance. They have a deep heritage of caring, compassion and health. Promoting the relief of sickness, distress and suffering. Helping others at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives.

They promise to serve humanity without judgement, take time to care, be skilled to meet health needs and develop new and better ways to preserve and protect life.

July - Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Charity

Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity is the UK’s largest dedicated charitable funder of child health.

We will be donating half of our social value fund for the month of July to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Charity to give some much needed support which will go towards helping researchers find more life-saving cures.

As many as five children a day lose their lives to a rare disease. Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital with 618 children and young people from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments.

As children and families have to deal with intense stress and unfamiliar surroundings, Great Ormond Street Hospital’s Charity provide services to ease the burden on families, raise spirits, and support children and young people through life-saving treatment. For example, a dedicated team of 38 charity-funded Play experts interact with more than 160 patients and siblings each day to bring fun into the hospital and help patients come to terms with their illness.

This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support. Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity supports the hospital and its patients by funding four key areas; support for families and children, research into children’s health, life-saving medical equipment, rebuilding and refurbishment.
