At Procurement Hub, we believe that meaningful partnerships have the power to create lasting social value. Earlier this year, we had the privilege of experiencing this first hand during an inspiring afternoon with the team at Cook for Good in Islington, London.
Joining us was Willmott Dixon, our Direct Award Tier 1 contractor on the MPF2 Framework. With a shared commitment to delivering positive social impact, our teams came together to support an organisation that is making a tangible difference to communities across London.
Cook for Good is an innovative not-for-profit organisation that combines corporate team building with social responsibility. At a time when many people across the UK continue to face poverty, food insecurity, health inequality and increasing social isolation, the organisation provides businesses with a meaningful way to make a real difference within their local communities.
Their mission is simple yet impactful which is to bring businesses and communities together through cooking and food, tackling food insecurity, encouraging healthy eating, developing new skills and building lasting connections. By creating opportunities for collaboration, Cook for Good enables organisations to transform their social value ambitions into meaningful action.
Working alongside the talented Cook for Good team, Procurement Hub and Willmott Dixon spent the day preparing nutritious meals and baked goods that will directly benefit members of the local community. Together, we produced:
80 meals for the Cook for Good Community Pantry
2kg of homemade granola
96 portions of cake
24 freshly baked cheese scones
56 meals for door-to-door delivery
Every meal prepared contributes to supporting individuals and families experiencing food insecurity, barriers to employment and social isolation. While the figures demonstrate the immediate impact of the day, they only tell part of the story. The opportunity to work together towards a shared purpose reinforced the value of collaboration and highlighted the positive outcomes that can be achieved when organisations align around common values.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the dedicated chefs at Cook for Good, whose guidance, enthusiasm and expertise made the day both enjoyable and rewarding. We are also grateful to Emma Stewart MBE for providing an insightful tour of the Community Pantry and for sharing the inspiring work being delivered every day to support local people.
As Procurement Hub's Direct Award Tier 1 contractor on the MPF2 Framework, Willmott Dixon shares our commitment to delivering social value that extends beyond construction and procurement. The day demonstrated how partnerships built on shared values can create a lasting, positive impact for the communities we serve.
Our support for Cook for Good doesn't end in the kitchen. We are proud to have sponsored their new cookbook, Salads for Good, which celebrates fresh, accessible recipes while supporting the organisation's wider mission of using food to bring people together and create positive social impact. We are excited to see the book launch this October and look forward to continuing our partnership with Cook for Good as they inspire even more people to cook, connect and give back.
Experiences like this reinforce why social value remains at the heart of everything we do. It's not simply about meeting commitments; it's about building relationships, supporting communities and working collaboratively to create meaningful, sustainable change.
We are proud to support organisations like Cook for Good and to work alongside partners such as Willmott Dixon, whose shared values help turn ambition into action. Together, we're demonstrating that when businesses collaborate with purpose, the impact extends far beyond a single day it creates stronger, healthier and more connected communities for the future.
